Security Alert: Phishing Website Imitating Housecall Pro

We want to alert our community to a malicious phishing website that is fraudulently impersonating Housecall Pro.

The domain in question housecallpromo.com is not affiliated with Housecall Pro in any way and is being used to trick users into disclosing their login credentials by advertising a fake $500 bonus.

What Happened

Our security team recently identified housecallpromo.com, a fraudulent website attempting to steal Housecall Pro login information through a classic phishing tactic. If you entered your credentials on this site, your account may be at risk.

If You Entered Your Password

If you visited this site and entered your password:

  1. Immediately change your Housecall Pro account password
  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to secure your account:
    • Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner
    • Under settings > Login and Authentication > enable 2FA

These steps will help protect your data and prevent unauthorized access.

What We're Doing

Our security team has:

  • Reported the malicious domain to relevant authorities and hosting providers.
  • Successfully worked to have the malicious site taken offline as of 10 PM EST last night.

How to Stay Safe

  • Always verify the URL before entering login details. Our official domain is
    • Housecallpro.com
  • Be skeptical of any unsolicited offer or reward that seems “too good to be true”
  • Never enter login credentials unless you’re certain the website is legitimate

If you have concerns or believe you’ve been targeted, please reach out to our Support team at support@housecallpro.com or via the in-app chat

Stay safe,

The Housecall Pro Security Team

Fake Job Offers

Incidents

We're seeing bad actors reach out with fake job offers imitating real open positions here at Housecall Pro. Any employment contact will happen through @housecallpro.com emails and interviews will be conducted through zoom with some preliminary screening over the phone. If you have not had a video call interview then you are too early in the process to be receiving a job offer. We do not use Microsoft Teams.

Fake Customer Support

Incidents

We're seeing bad actors attempting to imitate Housecall Pro employees and get Pros to change their payment details. Make sure that any information regarding changes are coming from expected channels through real @housecallpro.com emails. Verify with a known point of contact if anything feels suspicious. We do not utilize Zelle or Paypal and will not ask you to do so.

If you think you may have discovered a vulnerability, please send us a note.
